What Is The Hallow Chronicles?
Helena Thompson is building a dark urban fantasy series called The Hallow Chronicles — set in Toronto, the city she has lived in her entire life and apparently never fully understood until now.
A hallow is a sacred and ancient thing — a place set apart, consecrated by time and by what has happened within it, carrying a power that does not announce itself.
It lives beside us, parallel, always there but hardly ever seen. It is within Toronto's streets and buildings, beneath the PATH tunnels, through rivers, forgotten subway platforms, hidden hospital corridors, and in the castle’s secret passages. The hallow is there. It has always been there. The monsters, demons, and creatures that humanity decided were myth never actually left — they just stopped letting us see them. They retreated into the hallowed spaces within and beneath the city and waited.
The Hallow Chronicles follows an ensemble cast of completely ordinary Toronto people who stumble into the truth about their city and discover that the world they thought they knew is only half the story. It is dark and morally complex and occasionally very funny, because that is what Toronto actually is, and that is what the best stories are.
The first book is set in Toronto. Future books will expand to other cities — because every city hides a hallow. The creatures just look different depending on where you are.

It is a progression fantasy filled with morally complex heroes, dark humor, and deadly game mechanics.
